Boon Heong in Guinness Book of World Records
IT is official. Malaysia’s doubles shuttler Tan Boon Heong is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the player with the fastest smash at a speed of 421kph.
On Thursday, he received the certificate for the achievement from the founder of Yonex, Minoru Yoneyama. It was a minor consolation for Boon Heong in Birmingham during the All-England.
On Wednesday, Boon Heong-Koo Kien Keat, the 2007 All-England champions, were dealt a big blow to their morale when they suffered a first-round defeat by Danish veterans Lars Paaske-Jonas Rasmussen.
With new Arc Saber Z-slash racket, he did his smash during the speed test in Yonex Japan Open, Tokyo.Wow, he smash at a speed of 421km/h, which breaks the world record perviously set by Japan's Naoko Kawamae at 414km/h.
